Flipkart pulls plug on PayZippy, invests in Ngpay


Flipkart has shut down its payment gateaway service PayZippy and made a strategic investment in mobile payment company Ngpay. The e-commerce giant had launched PayZippy in December last year where e-commerce merchants can accept payments from all credit and debit cards as well as use 53 net banking options.

“While we phase out our own payments product, PayZippy, nothing changes for our customers, who will continue to enjoy all the benefits of a safe and secure payment system through Flipkart.com.”, said Flipkart.

Payzippy’s website is still live and other e-commerce companies like Babyoye, Bluestone, Lenskart, Makemytrip, Yepme, Zansaar etc. are using its services. While Ngpay which is a marketplace for mobile devices offers ticketing from IRCTC, bus travel services, flight tickets, along with recharges and top-ups.
