Nike+ Running App to come pre-loaded on Samsung Gear S

Nike Gear S

Earlier today Samsung partnered with HERE to launch HERE Maps for the Gear S smartwatch, now the company has announced a partnership with Nike to pre-load Nike+ Running App on the Samsung Gear S.

Since the Gear has built-in 3G connectivity and A-GPS/Glonass to track progress, check routes and speed on the move without connecting it to other devices. It shows running metrics including distance, pace, heart rate, NikeFuel earned, and time. It also has a built-in music player to select music in a playlist and real-time cheers from Facebook friends.

Commenting on the partneship, Adam Roth, Vice President of Nike Global Running Brand Marketing, said

Nike+ Running has changed the way people experience sports. It motivates runners to run further, faster and more often by tracking their activity, celebrating their progress, enlisting personalized coaching, challenging their friends and sharing runs with their entire social network. The integration with the Samsung Gear S allows more runners to join the Nike+ community and enjoy the benefits of this great service.

The Nike+ Running has logged over 1 billion miles worldwide and is already available for Android and iOS platforms.
