Google Camera update brings remote control for Android Wear

Google has updated its Camera app with an ability to take a photo using Android Wear devices. The version 2.3 will use the smartwatches as a remote shutter for your smartphone’s camera.

LG G Watch-10

The update adds a card to an Android Wear watch that appears when the app is launched on a tablet or a smartphone. This card will then show a large capture button that, when pressed, will count down from three and take a photo. A preview, of the image that has been taken showcases on the watch. Users just have to tap a button on their smartwatch to take the picture — a preview of the photo will even be displayed on Android Wear.

Google Camera app also gets a redesigned Panorama mode UI that makes its easier to take images. It must be noted that this feature will only work with Google’s Camera app since it contains a mini APK specifically for the purpose.

The update is rolling out slowly but users who want to grab the update now can download the APK file from the source link below. Owners of LG G watch and Samsung Gear Live can use the camera update as these are the two devices that currently run on Android Wear. Both the devices received their first update last week.
