OnePlus 6 Unboxing


OnePlus just announced its flagship OnePlus 6 smartphone at an event in London. It is the successor of the OnePlus 5T that was introduced five months back and has new 19:9 display with narrow bezels while maintaining the same body. We already brought you the first impressions of the phone. Check out the unboxing below.

The OnePlus 6 has a 6.28-inch 19:9 Full HD+ Optic AMOLED 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display with 84% screen-to-body ratio, sRGB and DCI-P3 color coverage and is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with 6GB or 8GB of RAM.

It has a notch on the top that houses the 16-megapixel front camera with Sony IMX371 sensor, 1.0μm pixel size and f/2.0 aperture, earpiece and the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors. It also comes with face unlock feature that can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds.

Running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Oxygen OS 5.1, which is upgradable to Android P. It also has an option to hide the notch, as you can see in the image.

It has dual rear camera arrangement with 16-megapixel primary rear camera with Sony IMX519 sensor, wide-angle lens, large f/1.7 aperture along with a 20-megapixel secondary camera with f/1.7 aperture and Sony IMX367K sensor. This can capture depth information for bokeh effect that blurs backdrops in portrait mode. The fingerprint sensor is present below the camera, along with the OnePlus logo below the dual LED flash.

The Mirror Black version has a shiny glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a thin layer of film underneath the glass to create a sense of depth as light and shadow move on the device.  It has a metal frame, water-resistant body, support for dual nano SIM cards. It has 6GB / 8GB RAM with 64GB / 128GB / 256GB storage based on UFS 2.1. It packs a 3300mAh built-in battery with support for Dash Charge fast charging tech.

The 6GB RAM with 64GB version costs $529 (Rs. 35,825 approx.) / €519 / £469 , 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version is priced at $579 (Rs. 39,210 approx.) / €569/ £519 and the top-end 8GB RAM with 256GB storage Midnight Black version costs $629 (Rs. 42,600 approx.)  / €619 / £569. We should know the price for India when it is launched tomorrow exclusively on Amazon India.
