OnePlus Switch backup tool launched

OnePlus has released new ‘Switch’ app that lets you quickly migrate from your old phone to a new OnePlus device. The app was announced at the OnePlus 5T launch and is compatible with Android phones running Lollipop (5.0) or higher and it can transfer contacts, SMS messages, call logs, calendars, photos, videos, audio, and apps.

While the app can copy apps, it can’t transfer App data which in comparison, Google is capable of doing but requires Android devices running Android 6.0 and above. The OnePlus Switch app is currently in beta and will be available as a stable version in mid-January. The interface is very simple; you can either receive or send data by tapping the ‘New Device’ or ‘Previous Device’ respectively.

On a completely different note, the company said that it has partnered with two new repair centers in UK and Nordics to provide you speedy repair services. While the repair center in the UK has been up and running for the last three weeks, the second repair center will become functional from mid-Jan 2018. Initially, this service center will cover repair services for Finland, and in future, it will be expanded to Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.

The company also claims that the average turnaround times reduced from 7 days to 5 days. OnePlus has confirmed that the next Open Ears Forum event will be held in March 2018 and said it is planning on changing the layout of our FAQ, policies and main support page to provide better customer experience.

You can download the OnePlus Switch migration tool from PlayStore.
