Samsung launched Bixby Voice assistant in U.S. English for Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in the United States and Korea last month. Today the company has announced that it is now available in more than 200 countries and territories globally, one day before the announcement of its flagship Galaxy Note8 smartphone.

With full voice capabilities for U.S. English, Galaxy S8 and S8+ users can easily activate voice commands such as turning on the flashlight, taking a selfie, setting reminders, find photos from your gallery and more by pressing the Bixby button and saying “Hi, Bixby.”

Samsung said that it plans to continue expanding Bixby’s voice capabilities to additional languages, devices, features and third-party applications.

Injong Rhee, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D, Software and Services of the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, said:

Now millions of customers worldwide have access to a new and intelligent way of interacting with their phone. The expansion of Bixby’s voice capabilities is an initial step in the continued rollout of Bixby functionality. In the future, Bixby will have the learning power to offer more intelligent and personalized interactions and seamless connections across more devices.
