After the press shot of the flagship OnePlus 5 smartphone got leaked earlier this week, the company has officially released the first image of the smartphone that shows its dual rear camera arrangement along with a microphone and LED flash. It also shows the antenna line, curved edges, sleek design, SIM card slot on the right side, above the power button that were not seen in the leaked image.
It says A continuous hard edge, refined over 3 years along with Dual Camera, Clearer Photos. One Plus already confirmed that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform. Amazon India confirmed 8GB RAM for the smartphone.
The company has teamed up with DxO, a photography benchmark to enhance the camera on the phone. This also confirms earlier rumors that the smartphone will feature a fingerprint sensor on the front, similar to the OnePlus 3 and 3T. It is expected to run Android 7.1 (Nougat) out of the box.
Today in a new forum post, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said that after feedback from OnePlus 3 and 3T users saying they wish they could capture higher quality audio in noisy settings like concerts, they have made it a priority to improve audio recording on the OnePlus 5.
He also said that they have brought in some new hardware and assigned a group of engineers to optimize the audio system of the OnePlus 5 to capture much clearer sound. This would allow OnePlus 5’s improved microphone performs significantly better in loud environments
He also shared a video showing the improvement in audio on the OnePlus 5 compared to OnePlus 3.
