Xiaomi sold over 250,000 units of Redmi 4A within 4 minutes in first sale in India

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4A budget smartphone in India at Rs. 5999 earlier this week. It went on sale for the first time in India today exclusively from Amazon.in and Mi.com. Xiaomi said that it sold more than 250,000 units within 4 minutes the sale started on Amazon.in and Mi.com today noon.

It also said that Amazon.in witnessed huge interest with more than 5 million hits per minute, peak 1500 orders per second on the site and orders spiked to a record 1500 per second during the period of the sale.  It said that it witnessed over 1 million ‘notify me’ alerts from customers since the interest registrations began earlier this week.
