well considering where we are, like am in india, i wud go for SE X10, because desire is not in the market for buyers, (nt talkin bout grey mkts). but other wise desire is nice handset build wise & considering OS (nd never ending updates) against old OS of x10, while design & screen and two UIs (time & media scape) of x10 totally blows out desire.

so for its xperia, coz we can lay our hands on it

How can a pathetic phone like Xperia X10 beat HTC Desire? Unfair!!!

  • http://www.fonearena.com Varun Krish

both were announced at MWC this year at a similar price range :P

  • zbh

    I love you too

LETS C MR.RAG HEWS THINGS MOVING ON???????????

  • Angad Singh

Though. Always I agree with u varun n u know many thngs. Don’t know but x20 costs more
here’s what I thnk makes desire way way way way way better….
1 android 2.2 with flash 10.1 so i can now play free games on websites no more paid apps for that + I can watch live streaming sites any where… Imagine watching a cricket match on anywhere anytime….
Desire is compatible with far more apps n games than desire….live wallpapers

2 better amoled 16million colour screen where as x10 has only 65 thousand colour screen…

    3. In a fonearena x10 review it says it’s battery lasts only 7hrs

    4. I went to Croman compared sense ui in legend with n I can bet on it that sense ui is far more better than time scape and mediscape…..

    5. I have had SOny phone before they usually don’t update instead launch newer phone with newer os…. Also they say 2.1 in Q4 by that time desire will be on 3.0 gingerbread….

So to all those who are plannng to buy x10 I urge them to wait a week more for htc desire official launch

  • Angad Singh

    I meant x10 not x20 lol…. :)
though x20 can’t match the desire HD…. Lol

  • rAg

Yeah Varuna, but look at the prices now.. X10 prices crashed like hell while desire is still a bit more expensive.. HTC definitely has the edge with refined sense UI..

Usability wise desire owns over x10.. What’s the use of great hardware when it isn’t optimized with good software?

But anyways I got to use x10 only for few mins so I can’t really judge it.. What’s ur vote for? And more importantly what’s ur opinion.

  • rAg

Oops.. Sorry.. I meant varun.. Auto correct is a pain in iPad at times!!!!!

  • ooidort

How can a pathetic phone like HTC Desire even be compared to Xperia X10?

  • http://www.fonearena.com Varun Krish

Desire is certainly a better phone compared to the X10. X10 prices have crashed coz its been available for a while . Desire has not yet hit many markets due to supply issues. You know what ? I heard HTC is launching Desire in India with the new SLCD display :)

  • http://www.fonearena.com Varun Krish

lol .. varuna.. god of rain

i saw htc desire in bangalore for 24k approx

  • Geckoid

i’m using an X10. The battery can last three days now. And despit of the old version of android. it is as responsif as the Desire…

  • aman thakur

    x10 gonna win over desire..
    x 10 is great look wise…
the update service is little slow…..
but it will get 2.1 in september and hd recording and live wallpapers also..and many more
and at the end of the year it will get 2.2 or 3.0 ….
so x10 is better than all mobiles.

  • PhoneSeeker

This is really unbelievable, when I voted for Desire its was leading with 80 votes and X10 was far behind below 20. And now what an transformation in the numbers!!
Bad luck for Desire, supply issues making people go for other brands..

  • Obasan

how did palm pre beat the droid incredible ????

  • Angad Singh

well finally its proven…. this smartphone battle does not represent which phone is better but it represents how much the voters.. mainly Us indians are aware of what smart phone is…..
its proven like N900 wins over HD2 not thats just nokia fans who never bought a smart phone….
X10 winning over far more superior HTC Desire….
its not about expert opinion any more people voting for the same brand they are using…..
i m sure Droid X lost coz like most people think motorola is out business n have no idea what is Droid X
htc Incredible lost coz nobody heard of it….
Iphone 4 lost coz people hate it… dont know y maybe it cool to hate it or they dont wanna be called fanboys…..

  • zbh

    @Angad Singh
add.1,2: x10 will have same things, when it will be upgrade to 2.1 and then to 2.2 .. so those things aren’t real threads for x10. Except multitouch, in this case, desire wins. But x10i will have one finger zoom.

add.3: fonearena tested x10 on an old firmware, in the mean time there were couple of updates where battery, performance and usability have been improved.

add.4 this is personal feel, so I won’t argue at this point.

add5. Q4 is September too, so lets give them a chance, and don’t panic about December;)

Both phones are great by the way, but they need a fair look.

    In my country(Poland) desire costs 500-600USD and x10i 430-500USD.

  • Asad Rafi

Angad, I agree. The smartphone battle is about the phones with good PR, and I think thats the reason SE is winning.

  • rAg

I just got an xperia X10 to test it out (was curious)

My god, what crap is it!! It is no way comparable to HTC desire

    UI sucks

    Build quality is poor

Camera is same as a 5mp cam on Desire.

I got a second hand handset which was manufactured in some country where android market is prohibited.. An android phone without market??? WTF

The only good thing is the screen.. Which looks lovely..

I was in two minds, thought of going for legend, even with a 600mhz processor it was much smoother than this xperia x10 crap.. I wish i should have gone for legend itself..

All you guys supporting X10 please kindly try out desire once. You will simply love it if you loved X10 itself ;)

  • aman thakur

xperia 10 is great phone thats why x1o winning….
pr of apple is on top….
    but they both defeated…
good phones always good about their look,os,camera……and lots more..
    thts why x10 winning….

  • Manu V

can u please close this poll.. its really waste.. X10 should not beat desire.. in all aspects desire is better than X10..

Don’t do such waste polls please..

  • Manu V

just try desire and then reply me

  • Manu V

also hd2 is far better than n900.. dont vote for nokia just coz u like nokia phones. no nokia phones r comparable to hd2..

  • ahaks

    obviously you haven’t use X10….

I stop reading after the line “camera is same as 5mp cam”..

and the phone does not lag at all…

  • phani9

Xperia X10 is an absolutely awesome phone. Its the first to come with 4″ full wide screen, awesome 8.1megapixel camera, Very easy to hold, excellent ergonomic design.
Once it receives 2.1 update, it will have HD Video recording capability & a new redefined user interface UXP with enhanced TimeScape & MediaScape. DLNA is also coming by Dec.
    Look no further…

  • rAg

Alrighty then.. I will write ur name on a piece of paper and put the phone over it and take a pic then upload it and give u the link.. Hope that will help u out..

And i will upload pics of the same scenario taken with a iphone 4, a 3gs, htc hero, iphone 2g and a xperia x10.. It will prove u that even the 2mp cam of iphone could capture better pic than X10.

Am a bit busy today. I will upload all the details in a day or two.. hope that will enlighten u..

  • Funny

Xperia is better for me too, i owned both phones, xperia and desire, and my choise is xperia. Its very atractive, screen is just amazing, camera is best among androids, phone doesnt lag at all like someone above said. The only thing that is better on desire, is the android version, nothing else, its just plain smartphone like all the others, xperia seems somehow special.

  • Angad Singh

    ya right!!! dreamer.

  • Manu V

just compare its processing speed with desire.. can’t compare the UI also

  • Luke

People make me laugh on these comment pages. “OMG you voted for the other phone, you’re so obviously a loser and know nothing and haven’t tried the other phone etc etc”.

    Honestly grow up people!

Both phones are good phones and this poll is about how people have got on with using each phone. Now me I have actually tested both phones as I spent months deciding between the X10 and Desire. As for the Iphones it was only right that they both lost as they are all about hype!

Both phones are brilliant, has to be said, I loved them both. But most of stuff that the Desire did better was mostly a gimmick except for it’s brilliant SMS recognition software. 7 homescreens, do you need that many? Funky weather widgets? Etc? Most of that is down to Android 2.1 which the X10 is due to get. Yes ok it’s on 1.6 which lets it down a bit, but thats because SE spent ages tailoring it’s unique UI for it and they overran a bit. It happens, and for 1.6 it’s pretty dam decent, so can only get better with recent Android OS’s.

The X10 also trumps the HTC with it’s camera and music player. Mediascape is dam useful, obtaining album art is easy and the volume through earphones is quite nice and loud. The camera is brilliant, after taking many photos on excursions over the past few months. The HTC’s isn’t bad, but isn’t as good, that’s the brunt of it.

The X10′s issue is the in-call volume which is too low yes. But it’s a situational issue and most people spend time using SMS rather than actually making phone calls. It’s why talkplans have thousands of text messages, but only up to about 1000 minutes of talk time on expensive plans. Again we hope a software update or the Android 2.1 upgrade will resolve this problem.

All in all, both phones are great, but the X10 ticks more boxes for me than the HTC. And the prospect of HD recording and wireless TV is enticing.

So come on people, constructive arguments, stop this childish flaming and fanboyism!

  • reiley

the only thing that makes desire better than the x10 is the OS version on it and the ram… in other aspects x10 can eat the desire alive…

  • Hikaru Kaze

Obviously you cannot accept that your favorite device lose.
I didn’t even whine if X10 lose. I have my X10, and I love it, and I do believe Desire by hardware is a better spec’ed device.
However, X10 has a special allure that drive me love it over the Desire.
The poll isn’t about how great a device is, it is about how many people like it. Even fonearena say it: “So folks, you know the specs now, so vote for your favorite. On your marks, get set, VOTE!”
Please don’t whine and dumps all your bad talks about another device if your favorite isn’t winning.

  • john

I used x10 and desire, x10′s screen is a lot better than desire even desire got amoled.

8mp of x10 is really one of the best camera in android today.

the looks of x10 is a lot better than the desire.

these are some reason why x10 is winning.

    i forgot, its SONY

  • Geckoid

Are you sure you are describing the X10 ? Build quality is excellent, I have the market? And I have tried the Desire, my X10 with android 1.6 is as smooth as the Desire.

  • Luke

Your issue is that you “assume” that because someone likes what you don’t like, we haven’t tried your side out. It wouldn’t be much of a constructive argument would it if most of us hadn’t would it? Thinking everyone else is wrong just because it isn’t your opinion is a childish way to act.

I for one have tested a lot of phones inc both Iphones, X10, Desire, Legend and N900 (granted I’ve avoided Samsung/Motorola with a passion) and I still hold the X10 to be the best overall.

In terms of camera, simply taking one setting and comparing pictures won’t work. Different scenarios require different settings which will be better on some phones than others. From the collection I’ve done, the X10′s camera still comes out nice. People mention blurry pictures, the only time a picture should end up blurred is because you’re moving your hand too much, failing that, try Sport setting which quickens the shot a bit.

I tried all the cameras and I would say the best 3 cameras were N900, Desire and X10 (yes Nokia made a half decent cameraphone, don’t faint!). However I would still list them in order of X10, N900, Desire in quality. The X10′s quality was second to none, landscape shots particularly turn out gorgeous and I’ve been doing a lot of sightseeing lately. The N900′s camera does very well, coping nicely in dim lit conditions and doing landscapes well too. The Desire’s was fairly good, but it lacked in detail compared to the other two, but then HTC’s cameras are usually a secondary concern. Iphone cameras just suck in comparison, but they were meant to be user friendly rather than good quality which in all fairness, they are.

As for the market not being on the phone, that’s not the phones fault, just the country who supplied it. UK handsets come complete and fully functioning.

  • Luke

    +1 Etc etc to Hikaru.

Some people simply can’t accept it when things don’t go their way. People think every one who votes for X10 is a fanboy and has no opinion, and how does that differentiate from the possibility that all Desire lovers are EXACTLY the same? Frankly it doesn’t, but then this poll isn’t based on PR and rubbish, it’s a poll for users of the phone and most phone users are a fickle bunch, easily agitated and willing to change often, so why would people vote for a phone if they thought it was rubbish? Eh?

The fact is, both these two phones are brilliant phones. The main differences that make the X10 better are covered by the fact it does cost an extra £5-£10 a month depending on talkplan, but I would say it’s worth it after trying out both phones. I couldn’t live with another cameraphone, the music player is great on my bike, the email sync is easy already coping with my work Outlook inbox and Hotmail nicely and it looks and feels gorgeous without having to worry about silly live wallpapers. If anything build wise, the only quip I have is the flimsy USB port cap, but hey, ever heard of the phrase ” BE CAREFUL ” ??? It’s really a trivial quip.

From what I see, the majority of people who dislike the X10 don’t seem like people who have tried it out either, perhaps they have, I don’t know, but a lot of complaints are all about Android 1.6. To be quite frank I’ve yet to see an app that doesnt work for my X10 on the basis of it’s Android version and the differences between 1.6 and 2.1 seem mostly like gimmicks anyway. Whoopie I have live wallpapers, far too many home screens and a weather widget that covers the whole background, who the hell cares?

Granted the X10 needs to get to 2.1 fast, but by the end of September it will. Will this influence other people who previously hated the X10, maybe, maybe not, but I hope they just have the decency and maturity to accept people’s opinions and decisions, coz frankly I’m seeing a lot of children here!

  • Luke

Absolute tripe! If this was about PR, don’t you think the Iphones would have trumped everyone with their hype! You Indians are just getting annoyed that other countries have a different opinion which is extremely selfish.

If this is about PR, then what if the PR for one phone was better than the other in your country, perhaps that’s why the Desire did better? I’m not the expert on smartphones but then niether are you guys, so if others have a different opinion, don’t slate them off and claim dominance as a result. Grow up!

  • Manu V M

dont be too smart ok.. what u have actually compared.? can u compare the screen smoothnes of desire with x10. and web pages will take a looong time to load in x10. camera and music quality are not the primary things for a phone for everyone. just keep that thing also in mind.

what i mentioned is that this poll is actually a waste, coz there should be ratings for particular specs like call quality, screen, os, camera, UI, etc etc..

simply putting a poll will help only to get more votes for Nokias or SEs..

I am damn sure that web browsing in x10 is a crap.. only good thing in that is the large screen, the speed is not even comparable to desire or even IPhone 3gs(600 MHz)

    Thanks,

    Manu

  • Vanilla

you’re right about that, people seems to hate x10 for it’s android 1.6, they seem to compare it with devices that already have 2.1 or 2.2 even.

but compare the 1.6 version of x10 with other devices that also has 1.6 on it then they would really see how great the x10 is.

  • Vanilla

then try comparing both x10 and desire in direct sunlight let’s see how the amoled screen cope on it. long time loading of web pages? maybe your using a slower connection with x10 so it took so long.

  • LOL

LOL.. Processing speed ? and Browser ? Do you ever think that browsing speed on default browser is faster on desire just because it is 2.1 ? Processing speed is same too and i know you say its processing speed is more because you did a benchmark with Linpack/Quadrant ? that’s because of 2.1 too. If you really want to compare the power of X10 vs. the Desire try playing Asphalt 5 or if your brain is washed with benchmarks try Neocore, this score don’t depend on the android version but on the hardware. X10 has a better GPU than desire. I know both run the same 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon but Sony used a AMD Z430 (OpenGL ES 2.0), it doesn’t use the same drivers as the other HTC devices using snapdragons have(including desire), it’s a bit faster though it’s locked to 32fps. And i bought a phone not an Android version. You guys just don’t get it. X10 had several updates in the past 2 moths and its fast now. I agree that they released it with a slow sluggish and annoying firmware(R1FA014) but the latest one (R2BA026) have significant speed improvements and also increased the battery life. I have a X10 and my brother have a Desire and he is just jealous of it :P . He wants to trade it but i don’t :D . Having 1.6 is not the end of the world and some people like me can live with it . Also 2.1 is right around the corner. Wait i think i got an update!! nope..

  • Sophia

I agree It is SONY but you know recently, SE lose their clients because of their lacking devices. Everyone likes X10 so did I before I got HTC Desire. Certainly X10 has designe better than that on the HTC Desire and its bigger display is one of the device pros though it is not AMOLED like Desires. The 8.1 MP camera is another pro, though I heared it doesn’t take that good pictures but hopefully it will get fixed after the 2.1 update.
So see X10 is a great device(though it will have 2.1 update-not 2.2)!..but wait why does it have 256 MB RAM Memory ?! I don’t think 256 are enough for device like that..moreover it won’t have the soon coming 3.0 Android (Gingerbread) because of its RAM Memory…. with no 3.0 this smart phone will grow old so fast.
    SE are dissapointing me again……
Another thing guys if you havent used the HTC Desire it won’t be a mistake to try it and see it is a great device…
    Love HTC Desire!

  • Manu V

no.. have u ever tried a desire. i think u r either a x10 owner or u have never seen a desire. x10 is good. but desire is better…

  • Manu V

do u know how much is the RAM avilable in both? if dont go and check and just try both phones ..u ll get my point..

if ur brother (or whoever ) will trade his desire for this x10 crap, then he will be the greatest fool..

  • Manu V

i agree with u sophia.. i think people who r fighting with x10 crap, have never seen a desire..

  • x10

who da F told u it got only 256mb of ram ??..just get ur facts straight n comment looser cant take dat ur cheap desire is loosing..thts da fact desire is nothing great..and u dint use x10 stop lying u cheap looser..use da device and comment

  • Vanilla

x10 has 384mb memory… and gingerbread doesn’t require 512mb ram but it’s the recommended ram for it as they say. the x10 takes good quality pictures, just try using it before saying stuff like that.

  • Manu V

mind ur language ..ok.. thats what u have to do. just try and then comment.. DON’T EVER USE this kind of language..

  • Angad Singh

dude u have no right to criticize the Indians plus since u dont know much about smartphones u r the 1 who need to grow up…. i m betting u havent used any smart phone all your life……

  • Vanilla

you are the crap… have you ever used a customized x10? am using both phones ok? the desire is a little snappier than the x10 cause of it’s ram and os, but very limited internal storage you have root it first before you can really use it… the x10 feels like it has more potential it is just held back by the os version installed on it… x10 takes better quality pictures and video too and design wise it is way better.

  • Angad Singh

Please all u guys who love the X10 n voted for it, please comment if the facts is state below are true or not?

    1. X10 and Desire were launched together at the MWC 2010

    2. X10 was actually announced and was expected to be launched in November with the motorola DROID launch in USA but it was delayed and X2 which had to be launched in september came out in Jan and was declared outdated at launch……

    3. Desire came out with the latest android 2.1 and x1o came out with android 1.6 which means there is many things desire can do and X10 cannot (heres a youtube link to wat can be dont in 2.2 n 2.1 but not in 1.6) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY3U2GXhz44

    4. X10 has 384 MB ram where as Desire has a 512 MB ram

    5. if u followed the SE phones history then do u would agree that Se has never upgraded its phone the next version of OS (Symbian which they previously used)but only sent updates to fix bugs found at launch…

    6. All the phones SE launched after jan2008 have had complaints that these phone dont even last the full warranty period w/o going into the service center..

    7. the current situation is that GSM version of the HTC desire has already got android 2.2 and even CDMA versions have started receiving it but still X10 is expected to get “2.1″ not 2.2 be Sept end and that to what people are hoping Q4 means…….

    8. Even the X10 has better camera it still doesnt record 720P videos and has a 65thousand colour screen coz its on 1.6 but on the other hand X10 is on android 2.2 so it has 720P recording + 16Millinon colour screen…..

so everything being blue in the X10 is not a feature actually its a mask to make up the colour deficiencies in the phone…. so if u think x10 screen is better….. stop thinking coz u r wasting yur time…….

so only things good about the X10 is good camera and 1gb interanl space but thaat doesnt really matter as in 1.6 u cant store your apps in the SD card but i m sure u guys never had the preoble of lack of strage in X10 coz u dont install many apps…..

  • x10

    dude check dis out

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOCmnlpPTIk&NR=1

x10 compared to galaxy s..and even though x10 is using 1.6 compared to 2.1 of galaxy s..der is only 2 sec of diff on web load..get ur facts straight ok..desire is nothing great n look at x10 custom UI..go n buy first n check it out..its very complicated to code n look at da timescape phonebook mediascape everything SE changed unlike HTC its just a simple custom layout..i personally used desire for few days n i know wats da diff..expect for live wallpapers der is nothing much n v soon getting dat too…loosers(desire)

  • luke

My god you make me laugh, some disagrees with ur viewpoint u immediately assume they know nothing. Listen up boyo, u are not the smartphone guru of the world, right now u sound like a child whining coz he’s losing some random online poll. Its so lame! Just accept that not everyone loves your phone, users vote on these polls and more users are satisifed with x10 than desire on this poll, r u really going to lose sleep over this? I look fwd to seeing x10 win this poll and to hear the subsequent whining!

  • luke

Nice point vanilla well made! But desire users are in love with live wallpapers!

  • luke

Well I’m using the internet on here to post this comment just fine. And dude when I test phones, I test them I don’t just look at both and go meh. U say polls will get more votes for nokia and se why? More ppl rabbit on bout I phones and htc’s new found recent batch of nice phones. In the end what does it matter? When one phone wins, the losers will whine like schoolchildren because the human race can’t accept losing.

  • Unknown

My god man just accept that more people prefer the X10 over the Desire. We all are not idiots who tried one phone and thought the other was rubbish by default, when people buy phones, they try their choices out!

We could easily rephrase your words to say “have you ever tried an x10? i think r u either a Desire owner or you have never seen an X10. Desire is good, but X10 is better” and it would apply in equal standing to you.

Don’t be such a baby just coz your beloved phone is losing in an online poll, what the hell does it matter to you anyway, just enjoy your dam phone and stop been a loser baby about it assuming every X10 owner hasn’t touched your bloody Deisire, it’s sickening.

  • Unknown

Why because he will no longer have your beloved phone……awwwww poor baby Manu!

  • Luke

Exactly! Most of the internet is down to the connection, not the phone anyway. I could have the fastest processor in the world, but if I’m out in the middle of the Himalayas with no 3G signal, what use is it? Common sense people!

  • Luke

Van don’t even bother with him, he’s just the equivalent of a whining baby who’s not getting his way. My phone is losing in the polls, waah waah mummy Sophia make it stop! At least Sophia is posting a constructive argument. Mana just assumes that every X10 user has never seen a Desire in action which is complete rubbish made up by a sore loser.

These two phones are one of the biggest combatant fights in mobile phone history. Desire vs X10. Anyone who looked at either phone, will have looked at the other due to the similarities and news articles online. To not do so means you got lots of money to splash or you’re an idiot. Thankfully most people arent!

If you have to root a phone before you get the most out of it, the phone fails. Sorry Desire users, but phones were not designed to be rooted by techno geeks.

  • Hikaru Kaze

    1. Don’t remember

    2. X10 never promised to launched in November.

    3. Everyone noticed it I believe.

    4. Still, I have no lag experience when playing HD Games or other memory intensive apps.

    5. SE history, true. But SE now promised an upgrade on September (late September or early October), just wait and see. How about we make a deal, if SE doesn’t upgrade it to 2.1, I walk nude on the road (I’ll upload the pics) and if SE upgrade it, you’ll do the same, how about that? SE X2 has been updated from Windows Phone 6.5 to Windows Phone 6.5.2 and soon to 6.5.3.
If, somehow you doesn’t mean this is for X10, then what this has to do with X10 vs Desire?

    6. What this have to do with X10 vs Desire?

    7. What the problem with radio version has to do (CDMA & GSM)?

    8. It’ll get 720p video on 2.1 update, while Desire get it on 2.2 update.

I believe you are a hater of X10, I still can’t believed what are you want to achieve by saying all bad talks about it.
I believed I AM saying that Desire is a better spec’ed device.
I’m choosing it over Desire because X10 has a special allure to attract me to it. And I love it.

  • LOL

RAM is not the only thing that drives Android. In Android Free RAM= Wasted RAM . You will never run out of RAM if you are using android. It is not like WinMo where RAM is the thing that determines speed . Also there is not any requirements for Android 3.0 until Google hasn’t said anything.

X10 has 384(256 MB for OS) MB RAM with 128 MB dedicated to GPU. Thats why you see X10 performing better than Desire/Nexus one.

  • LOL

Just checked it with Titanium 196 apps(including system and user). I don’t want more. Even if i wanted more there 129 MB free.

  • Angad Singh

    first no i m not an X10 hater m actually symbian OS hater…. lol…
now i wasnt fighting back or saying against the X10 owners or SE or SE fans all i m saying is SE is not caring for its users i mean its about time dont u think that the X10 Should have gotten the 2.1 update and now when 2.2 is out still there is only news about the 2.1 update which i think is looking a little foggy…

also i m a big android fan n its the only OS which made apple actually bring multitasking and the iphone 4 (but thats a diff story)

when the original Droid was launched SE already had X10 ads on its site so it was expexted it will be out b4 December….
But it came out after the desire and that to with 1.6 which was already 6months old and outdated…. now thats not fair at all… same thing

Now X2 is was a fail like N97 very laggy n buggy but the wallpaper UI is still better than X10….

i didn’t buy the X10 Coz SE has already betrayed in the past by being very late in updates n product launches…

Just 1 Question to my fellow humans who r on the X10 side dont u guys feel cheated that u r on 1.6 for so long while rest in competition are on 2.1 and by the time very 1 will get 2.2 u guys will only get 2.1 which is actually the main reason many people here dislike the X10…..dont u guys want to be on 2.2 i mean its way better and faster than 2.1 which is better than 1.6….

also in desire u have the option that if u dont like the sense Ui u can always switch to stock UI but u cant turnoff the SE UI but it doesnt really matter coz i m sure u guys just love the SE scape UI n dont wanna turn it off nor do the Sense UI….
and “NO NEED TO WALK NUDE…. ITS JUST A GADGET…. and people dont really care specially the guys at se… if they did u did already have 2.2 on yur phone “

  • Angad Singh

just go on youtube and search for google keynot day 2 or android 2.2 launch where this indian guy whos the VP engineering google ‘vic gandotra’ u will see why your phones need to be on 2.2 and y 1.6 is not enough….

  • Vanilla

playing NFS Shift on my x10 :)

  • Hikaru Kaze

are you sure when Droid comes out SE has the ads on SE sites?
I believed it was a leaked information, even misled the name of the phone (X3, remember?)
SE officially announce X10 in 3 November 2009

X10 HAS the option to use the timescape as the homescreen or the vanilla Android homescreen.

why HTC are quickly gets update? because HTC has more resource than SE have, and don’t forget this is Sony Ericsson’s first time having Android on their phone.
I’ll not be this forgiving if this their newer Android smartphone (X10 mini, mini pro and X8 still the family of X10), if the next android phones besides these from SE is still using older OS, I WILL feel cheated.

Now, if X10 updated to Android 2.1, will you try it?
Why are we even bother to tackle each other when we’re actually on the same boat? (Android lovers)
Android users should be supporting each other, whatever the brand/device is.

I’m more than happy if the winner of this tournament is an Android smartphone (I don’t even care which the brand is. Hell, half of this smartphone battle is Android phones).
As this will show the world how great the Android OS evolve in the past few years. How about you?

  • Luke

After looking at vids and testing phones lately with 1.6, 2.1 and 2.2, honestly the differences really only rest in the odd extra feature rather than smoothness and speed as that’s all dependant on the UI to begin with. When a phone with 1.6 can match the speed/smoothness of 2.1, it goes to show what a difference the UI makes in itself, so a 2.1 upgrade when it eventually does arrive is only going to make things better.

It’s not to say that Android upgrades are pointless, far from it, but they should not be the “do or die” card of smartphones which puts of a lot people off certain smartphones. You’ll get people not buying 2.1 phones because it’s not 2.2 next!

  • Ankit

    HOW COME BUDDY…..

even i tried make it happen wht all in vain,
please tell me the way, i even tried via adb, but the screen while gaming showed only black…. help me

nd when this poll is going to get over ????

    x10 is winning

  • LOL

Probably the only thing that i agree with you . No need for that kind of language.

  • john

    @Angad Singh

i think x10 was launched last year, it was x10 mini and x10 mini pro that was launched at MWC 2010

  • Angad Singh

yup m sure i still remember that ad…. n m glad u finally get what i m saying all along if X10 had atleast android 2.1 i wouldnt have disliked it…. its just that i feel that its cheating the consumers on SE’s part…. people spent around 30K (the 1s who bought it at launch) n still this phone is on 1.6 i personally have tested it with the Milestone and response time the milestone was faster……. though a very less difference but still milestone is nothing in terms of CPU n GPU infront of the X10…..
all i want to say is HTC is taking good care of its consumers and therefore its should win n no i will never buy a SE phone i have been cheated enough by them…..
samsung has won the best smartphone award in europe and

X10 mini won the best phone award coz they think its a great girly phone “amazed”?

samsung wave won the best social phone…..

  • Angad Singh

actually it was announced last year but its launched was delayed….

  • atsoft

My doesn’t like his x10 though I think it seems pretty nice. Still I have to say HTC desire.

  • atsoft

    My friend* , sorry

  • Vanilla

i found a snapdragon version on mobilism, runs really smooth :)

  • Angad Singh

see like u said X10 will not go far on updates as SE has other plans…. like apple did to iphone 2g n 3g not giving ios 4 n to 3g very slow perfomance….. but they did it in 2-3 yrs SE launching a new phone with leatest android OS

  • Hikaru Kaze

@Angad Singh: is my English is so bad that you cannot understands it? I don’t feel cheated by SE for X10, I will feel cheated if the next Android Smartphone from Sony Ericsson is still using the old Android version (which is unlikely, since PSP alike phone is rumored using Android 3.0 Gingerbread)

  • Hikaru Kaze

Sorry, it’s appear that I was the one who didn’t read correctly. :P (just forget the previous comment)

  • HaRou

rubbish. how can the x10 be comparable with htc desire? The UI might looks cool, but it certainly slows down the phone. 1 thing i can think of x10 that is better then desire is the camera (well sony never fails in their mobile camera). Desire is already starting to have 2.2 on them. X10 haha

  • Luke

When does this poll finish? I want to see the Droid own the Blackberry and then face off against the X10!

  • Vanilla

wow… it’s been more than a week and this poll hasn’t even finish?

  • Vanilla

i think there will still be updates… like s.e. did on their other phones… apple abandoned 2g & 3g because the hardware can’t handle the os well… but with x10 having almost the same spec as desire, i doubt they would stop at 2.1, i think they’ll support to it’s limits… just like they do on psp.. :)

  • Hikaru Kaze

Maybe they’ll wait until Desire won?

  • Angad Singh

ya… maybe they forgot to end it i guess….. lol… or maybe they want their Fav to win….lol… mine is desire though lol..

  • Luke

We don’t have 20 years to wait! :P No bias here website, end it now and let’s move on to the next bout. I’m betting on the Droid compared to a Blackberry.
