Instagram is finally adding new features that we all have been wanting for a long time. The Facebook owned photo sharing app will now allow users to turn off comments on specific posts, adding the ability to like comments and remove followers from private accounts.

Earlier in September, Instagram introduced the feature to moderate and filter comments that comprise of abusive or offensive words. Now, the app is taking one step further and giving its users more control over comments. In order to turn off comments on your posts, you will have to tap “Advanced Settings” before you post and then select “Turn Off Commenting” and tap the three dots menu button any time after posting to turn commenting back on. Moving on, Instagram will finally let users “like” comments by tapping a heart icon next to any comment. This little addition, according to Instagram “lets you show support and encourages positivity throughout the community”.

Next up, if you have a private account you can now remove a follower without blocking them. You will have to tap the menu button next to any person’s name in order to block him/her. The person will not be notified that you removed them as a follower.

Instagram says that all the aforementioned featuers will start rolling out to users in coming weeks.
