Asus ZenWatch 3 Hands On

Asus had announced ZenWatch 3 at IFA 2016 Berlin. We were live at the event and got our hands on the device. So let’s take a look at hardware and specifications of the smartwatch.

The ZenWatch 3 is the third generation Android Wear smartwatch from Asus. It is made of 316L stainless steel and has a beautiful design and a circular display. The new design has a gold ring that is present along the display which offers it a premium look. It has a 1.39″ (400×400 pixels) 287ppi AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. It comes with 512MB RAM and 4GB eMMC.

The watch looks elegant and has three crown shaped button on the right side. you can set the top button to go into your favorite applications. It measures 45 x 45 x 9.95 mm.

The watch is dust and water resistant (IP67) and supports Bluetooth 4.1 LE along with Wi-Fi. At the bottom, the watch has usual circular brushed metal pattern and port for charging.

The ZenWatch 3 offers its own version of fast charging dubbed as “HyperCharge” that charges it upto 60% in jut 15 minutes.  Asus also offers additional accessories like a magnetic charger and a battery pack. The optional battery pack provides upto 40% battery of additional charge. The magnetic charger can charge the watch and the battery pack together.

The Asus ZenWatch 3 comes in Gunmetal, Silver and Rose Gold colors and starts at 229 Euros (US$ 254 / Rs. 17070 approx.). It will roll out from October.
