If you have had frustrating waiting times while searching for something on your mobile phone then Google feels your pain. Google is planning to roll out a new feature that will speed up your search experience on mobile.

The new feature will allow a person in India say with a 2G connection to load pages faster and using lesser data via Chrome or Android browser from Google’s search results. While the service is still undergoing testing and will take a while before implementation, it is proven to be faster and less data hungry.

A field test conducted in Indonesia showed that the pages load four times as fast and use 80% lesser data as compared to before. Even with the new feature, users can still opt to see the page in its original design itself if they want.

Google states that over 200 million Indians access the internet from their smartphones and they’re working on ways to make it faster and cheaper. Even if it reduces waiting time per consumer by even a second, it would reduce the collective waiting time by two and a half years.
