Skype rolls out “Click to Call” for mobile beta on Android

Skype has rolled out its “Click to Call’ feature that allows users to make a call from their desktop client. The Skype desktop plugin will let you “send phone numbers from your computer browser straight to Skype on your mobile, so you can immediately call from your phone or save the number to call later”.

The latest feature is currently present only on Android but will soon come to other platforms as well. Users will see highlighted phone numbers in their browser after using the Skype desktop client. They can call them, or save the numbers to call later, directly to their phone, just by clicking on “Call from Mobile” from within your browser. Users will need both Skype desktop client and Skype for Android installed to use this feature.

“Imagine you’re tracking a parcel on your computer and you need to call the delivery company. Simply find their number online, which Skype Click to Call will have highlighted for you, then select Call from mobile and the number will be sent to Skype on your mobile. Just pick up your mobile, swipe and start the call without ever having to type in any numbers.”

posted Skype in a company blog.

You can download the “Click to Call” install plugin from here.
