InMobi has been eyeing for a valuation in excess of $2 billion (approximately Rs 12,500 crore). The report said that the talks between the duo started in September last year and Google had not yet detailed its terms and conditions for the deal. Founded in 2007, InMobi, helps companies target phones and mobile devices in their advertising and claims to have over 1 billion users across 200 countries.

The move from Google can be touted as a step to boost its presence in the highly demanding mobile ad space. Facebook has been a competitor for Google has the social network earns major of its revenue via advertising. Big companies like Facebook and Twitter have already made an Indian acquisition with Little Eye Lab and Zip Dial and now it looks Google will also do the same.
