Spice Retail Limited has announced that it has partnered with online retailer Flipkart to sell its flagship smartphones exclusively on the e-commerce portal. We will have a dedicated store on Flipkart for Spice products, said the company. Spice Group has an online shopping portal called Saholic, where is sells their smartphones, apart from selling produces from other manufacturers.
Motorola and Xiaomi sell their smartphones only through Flipkart. Oppo recently tied up with Flipkart to sell its smartphones on the e-commerce portal. Some companies such as Karbonn, Asus, Samsung recently tied up with Flipkart to sells some of their smartphones exclusively. Flipkart’s competitor Amazon India recently tied up with Microsoft, Samsung, Lava and several other companies for some exclusives.
The company plans to launch new flagship smartphones starting mid-September. It aims to 100,000 smartphones on Flipkart in the initial few days and aims to grab 10% market share of the overall online sales for smartphones.
