Production Resumes at Nokia Chennai Factory

on January 23, 2010 – 11:20 am2 Comments

The striking workers at Nokia’s Chennai factory have called off the 4 day strike after Nokia India and the Workers Union resolved the issues after talks.

The workers returned to work today morning.  Nokia India’s Chennai Factory in Sri Perumbudur has 3,700 permanent workers, 2,000 trainees and 1,000 contract workers.

Almost 70 per cent of the total workforce are women. This plant can produce around 500,000 mobile phones a day !

Looks like it has the highest productivity among all Nokia plants around the world.
