LTE version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note glimpsed in spy shots

We have spoken about a 4G LTE variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note that was believed to be in the works previously, but today was the first time that we got to have a look at the very device. Ditching the octa-core MediaTek processor for a better-compatible, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8928, the 4G LTE version of the Redmi Note looks more or less identical to the initial version. The Redmi (Hongmi) got similar treatment from Xiaomi when it was updated to a Snapdragon 400 SoC from the MT6582 earlier this year.

The Xiaomi Mi 4 is the company’s first ever LTE phone, and the Redmi Note might soon join the league if you go by the leaks. It’s expected to feature the same 5.5-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM (and maybe a 1GB RAM variant), a 13 mega-pixel main camera and Android v4.2 Jelly Bean.

Following Apple’s strategy, Xiaomi are known to keep pricing constant while the hardware gets a bump. If that does happen, the LTE Redmi Note should cost about $130 in the mainland of China.
