India Smart TV shipments up 33% YoY in Q1 2022: Report

According to Counterpoint’s television market analysis for Q1 2022, India’s overall TV market grew 33 percent year-on-year to reach its highest ever at 89 percent, with Xiaomi leading the market, followed by Samsung, LG, and others. Interestingly, the premium TV segment (> INR 30,000) increased by 68.6 percent year-on-year, rising from 23.5 percent in Q1 2021 to 33.6 percent in Q1 2022, accounting for a 10.8 percent year-on-year increase in average selling price (ASP). India Smart TV market records highest-ever 55% YoY growth in 2021: Report

According to the latest analysis from Counterpoint’s IoT Service, India’s TV sales increased 48% year-on-year in Q4 2021 (December quarter) and 24% year-on-year in 2021. The smart TV market expanded even faster, by 55% year-on-year in 2021 and 65% year-on-year in Q4 2021, to reach its highest-ever calendar year shipments.
