GoPro has announced the MISSION 1 PRO ILS, the third camera in its MISSION 1 Series. It is a compact cinema camera with interchangeable Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lens support, designed for use in a range of shooting setups.

The MISSION 1 PRO ILS weighs 6.95oz (197g) and uses the same new 50MP 1-inch sensor and GP3 processor as the MISSION 1 PRO. Its compact body allows a lensed camera to be used in tight spaces such as inside a car with smaller and simpler rigging.
The camera supports manual-focus and manual-aperture MFT lenses, while adapters can be used with vintage lenses, PL-mount cinema lenses and other specialty lenses. The interchangeable-lens system supports macro, telephoto and wide framing, along with shallow depth of field, focus transitions and selective focus.
The camera records up to 8K60, 4K240 and 1440p480. Open Gate modes support up to 8K30 and 4K120 using the full image sensor for maximum height and width during post-production. Burst Slo-Mo records 10-second 1080p clips at 960fps for 32x slow motion.
The 1-inch sensor includes a Quad Bayer 12MP mode in 4K Open Gate for improved dynamic range and low-light performance. Video features include 10-bit color, 10-bit Log encoding with GP-Log2, HLG HDR video, bit rates up to 240Mbps and Timecode Sync for multi-camera shoots. GoPro Labs provides access to hundreds of additional features, including 300Mbps bit rates and custom image stabilization.
Other camera features include:
- Focus: Focus Assist magnifies the shot by up to 8x on the rear touchscreen. Focus Peaking highlights in-focus areas using selectable colors and includes a High Sensitivity mode for low-contrast and low-light shots.
- Stabilization: HyperSmooth video stabilization works across a range of focal lengths without requiring a gimbal, additional gear or special editing software.
- Audio: A four-microphone array supports stereo recording and wind-noise reduction. The camera also supports 32-bit float audio saved to a separate .wav file, native multi-track recording, Automatic Gain Control, manual gain, limiting, Bluetooth 5.3 audio and USB-C microphones.
- Battery: The 2,150mAh Enduro 2 battery provides more than three hours of continuous 4K30 recording and over five hours of 1080p30 recording, with rapid charging.
- Photography: It captures up to 50MP photos in Single, Interval and Burst modes and can extract still images up to 44MP from 4:3 8K video using the GoPro Quik app or a non-linear editor.
- Design: The weatherproof body has three mounting options and supports GoPro mounts and accessories, including extension poles and mounting buckles for vehicle-mounted and follow-cam rigs. The Point-and-Shoot Grip can be used for handheld shooting.

GoPro MISSION Monitor app
GoPro has also introduced the MISSION Monitor app for iPhone and iPad. Designed for MISSION 1 Series cameras, it provides a live preview on a larger screen so users can check focus and composition before recording and preview how a shot will look.
The app’s main features include:
- Focus Peaking: Provides controls for sensitivity, intensity and color.
- Focus Assist: Supports pinch-to-zoom for checking focus on the larger display.
- Zebra Pattern: Displays diagonal strips over the preview in real time to help identify potential overexposure.
- Real-Time LUT Preview: Shows how a GP-Log2 shot will look after grading with provided MISSION 1 Series or custom LUTs.
- Shot Overlays: Displays aspect ratios, customizable grid lines and a center point for framing.
- Camera Controls: Allows users to start and stop recording and switch capture modes from the connected iPhone or iPad.
Pricing and availability
The GoPro MISSION 1 PRO ILS is priced at USD 699.99 MSRP (Rs. 66,869 approx.), while existing GoPro subscribers can purchase it for $599.99 (Rs. 57,316 approx.). Micro Four Thirds lenses are sold separately.
The camera is available for pre-order through GoPro, with pre-order shipments beginning next week. It will be available through GoPro and retailers globally from September 2, 2026.
The MISSION Monitor app will be available for free through the Apple App Store from September 2 and is compatible with devices running iOS 18 or later.
