Lava launched the Lava Virat Curve 5G smartphone, the top-end smartphone in the Virat series today. Here we have the unboxing and first impressions of the smartphone from the online-first smartphone lineup.

The Virat Curve has a 6.67-inch 3D curved AMOLED display offering a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,100 nits. The display is bright, and the sunlight legibility is good.
It has a punch-hole that houses a 13-megapixel camera. The earpiece is present on the top edge that doubles up as a secondary speaker. You can see the sleek bezel below the screen. The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 4nm SoC, it has 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM that you rarely see in phones in the price range these days and 6GB of virtual RAM and comes with 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There are several 5G bands.
The phone runs Android 16 without any bloatware or ads. Lava has committed to two major OS platform updates and three years of security patches. A forthcoming software update (SMR) will bring a refreshed Lava UI, a native Gallery app, and updated Vayu AI capabilities.
Coming to the button placements, the power button is present on the right side, and the volume rockers are present above it. The dual SIM slot is present on the bottom, along with the primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker. The secondary microphone is on the top along with the speaker vent.
The phone features a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony IMX752 sensor. It supports up to 2K 30 fps video recording. Check out some camera samples below.
The back of the phone has a secondary “Mini Display” embedded next to the rear camera module. Designed to reduce reliance on the main screen for quick checks, the secondary screen handles:
