At IFA 2026, technology brand TECNO received two IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards for its latest hardware developments: the TECNO Modular Phone and the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro).
Established in 2014 by IDG, IFA, and DIHK, the Global Product Technology Innovation Awards evaluate consumer electronics based on engineering innovation, technological integration, and industrial design. TECNO received gold distinctions in two separate hardware categories during this year’s event.
TECNO Modular Phone Wins Ultra-Slim Magnetic Modular Award
The TECNO Modular Phone received the Ultra-Slim Magnetic Modular Technology Innovation Gold Award. Measuring 4.9mm in thickness, the device uses a proprietary Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology that pairs a magnetic array with pogo-pin connectors.
Key technical characteristics include:
- Form Factor: 4.9mm portless unibody chassis with an official IP rating for dust and water resistance.
- Module Ecosystem: Support for ten functional snap-on modules that draw power directly from the host device.
- Internal Battery: Integrated 3,000–4,000mAh base battery inside the primary unit.
- AI Architecture: Designed to offload and support on-device AI processing without enlarging the primary chassis footprint.
Prior to its recognition at IFA, the device received mobile technology honors from outlets such as CNET, Android Authority, Yanko Design, and The Verge at MWC 2026. TECNO has confirmed the smartphone is scheduled for mass production.
Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS Awarded for Miniaturized Gaming PC Innovation
In the desktop computing segment, the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro) secured the Miniaturized Gaming PC Technology Innovation Gold Award. Co-developed with Tonino Lamborghini, the compact system occupies a vertical footprint of approximately 6.36 liters.
- Core Hardware: Intel Core i9-13900HK processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card (145W TGP, DLSS 4 support, and up to 614 AI TOPS).
- Thermal Management: Integrated custom water-cooling solution built to sustain peak operating frequencies under full system load.
- Chassis Design: Vertical layout featuring a panoramic transparent viewing window.
- I/O & Networking: 15 expansion ports, including dedicated OCuLink, USB4, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
