After teasers, HUAWEI has introduced the HUAWEI WATCH D3 smartwatch at its global launch event in Germany. The third-generation smartwatch from the company introduces ambulatory 24-hour blood pressure monitoring directly to the wrist, shifting tracking from isolated clinic visits to continuous day-and-night evaluation.
24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
Traditional clinical blood pressure readings offer only a single snapshot in time. The HUAWEI WATCH D3 implements continuous ambulatory monitoring aligned with the practice guidelines of the European Society of Hypertension. Using a mechanical micro-airbag integrated into the strap alongside a high-precision sensor and adaptive algorithm, the watch compresses the wrist to capture readings automatically at 15- to 30-minute intervals throughout the day and night. The inflation mechanism operates quietly to prevent sleep disturbance.
The blood pressure measurement function carries a CE marking in accordance with the EU Medical Device Regulation, providing certified longitudinal trends that users can share with healthcare providers. Users can also record targeted readings immediately before and after exercise.
Design and Form Factor

To accommodate continuous 24-hour wear, including during sleep, the WATCH D3 features a redesigned, compact chassis:
- Thickness: 11.3 mm
- Weight: 40 grams
- Strap: Slim airbag design engineered to distribute and reduce contact pressure on the wrist
- Colorways: Black, Gold, and Mocha Gold
Comprehensive Health Diagnostics
Beyond blood pressure, the device incorporates several centralized wellness-tracking tools:
- Health Glance: Generates an overview of up to 11 biometric indicators—including blood pressure, heart rate, and SpO₂—in approximately 60 seconds.
- Health Insights: Correlates physiological measurements with long-term activity and sleep data to identify broader wellness patterns.
- Health Community: Enables remote sharing of health metrics among family members, accompanied by automated notifications when abnormal readings occur.
Software Ecosystem
Each unit includes access to the HUAWEI MultiPass service package. This bundles three months of HUAWEI Health+ alongside up to 90 days of premium access to third-party fitness and wellness platforms, including Komoot, Headspace, Naviki, FIIT, and Kotcha. The software suite provides workout programming, running analysis, and outdoor GPS navigation.
