Instagram has rolled out an update to its standalone video creation and editing app Edits, adding new features aimed at improving accessibility and creative flexibility for creators.
What’s new in Edits
Bilingual captions
The update introduces bilingual captions, allowing creators to automatically translate captions into a secondary language to reach wider audiences. It supports English, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese, Gujarati, Spanish, Hindi, Korean, Bengali, German, Italian, Thai, French, Japanese, and Kannada.

Templates with overlays and clip lock
The app now supports richer templates with overlay functionality, helping creators build more layered video edits. It also adds a clip lock feature, which keeps selected clips fixed in place during editing for greater precision and reuse in templates.

Seasonal sound effects
Instagram Edits also adds seasonal sound effects, bringing summer-themed audio options for video creation.
