Ai+ launched new smartphones, including the Nova 2 Ultra 5G, the company’s first mid-range 5G smartphone, last week. Here we have the unboxing and first impressions of the phone.

The phone has a 6.78-inch (1224×2720 pixels) 1.5K flat AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. There is a 13MP front camera inside the tiny notch that supports 4K 30 fps video recording. The earpiece is present on the top edge, which doubles as a secondary speaker. There is a small bezel below the screen.
The phone runs Android 16 with nextQ OS on top. It doesn’t have any bloatware, and has NxtPrivacy Dashboard, NxtSafe Space, NxtMove App, and NxtQuantum Community App.
Under the hood, the Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor. It has support for several 5G bands, has up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
Coming to button placements, the power button that embeds the fingerprint scanner is present on the right along with volume rockers. You can also notice the gaming triggers. The dedicated dual SIM slot with microSD slot is present on the left.
The primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone and vent for the speaker are present on the top. The phone also has IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
The phone has dual rear cameras that include a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX752 sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. It supports 4K video recording from both the front and rear cameras. Check out some cameara samples.
The phone has a glossy plastic back that attracts fingerprints easily. It’s design-led customization, including dynamic lighting on the back that responds to calls and messages. It packs a 6000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
The Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G starts at Rs. 18,999. The next sale on Flipkart is set for April 24th at 12 noon.
