Google has announced Cinematic Video Overviews for NotebookLM, expanding its AI-based video creation tools. The feature moves beyond narrated slide-style Video Overviews and generates animated, visually detailed videos based on user sources.
Cinematic Video Overviews: What’s new
The update enables NotebookLM to create immersive videos using a combination of AI models, including:
- Gemini 3
- Nano Banana Pro
- Veo 3
These models generate structured narratives, fluid animations, and detailed visuals tailored to the uploaded material.
AI-driven video structuring
Gemini 3 functions as a coordinating model during video creation. It:
- Builds the narrative structure from user-provided sources
- Selects visual style and presentation format
- Makes multiple structural and stylistic adjustments
- Refines output to maintain internal consistency
The system determines how the content is organized and presented without requiring manual scene-by-scene input.
Availability
Cinematic Video Overviews are available in English starting today for Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and above. The feature can be accessed on both web and mobile platforms.
