realme Neo8 could get Dimensity 9500e / Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 8000mAh+ battery

realme is said to be testing the next Neo series phone for the Chinese market with MediaTek Dimensity 9500e (a variant of the Dimensity 9400+) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, which is different from the 8 Elite series, but is said to be better than the Snapdragon 8s series, based on earlier rumours.

Interestingly, the phone may pivot from the 1.5K 120Hz 8T LTPO panel of its predecessor to a “more eye-friendly” 1.5K LTPS screen, prioritizing user comfort possibly through improved PWM dimming.

A notable premium upgrade, according to leaker Digital Chat Station, is the inclusion of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for faster, more reliable unlocking.

Perhaps the most staggering rumor is a massive battery upgrade to over 8,000mAh, a substantial increase from the 7,000mAh cell in the Neo7, positioning the Neo8 as an endurance powerhouse.

Since the realme Neo7 was introduced back in December last year, we can expect the Neo8 around the similar time, or by late-November 2025. We can expect it to retain IP68+IP69 ratings, and will have to wait for a few more weeks to get the details about the camera and exact battery capacity.
