Users will be able to work on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files directly from Box. The company claims that a billion Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are present in Box right now with millions more added each day. Any changes you make in Office Online will be automatically saved back to Box in real-time. This will not required you to upload or download your files and move back and forth between the two services.

In the future, users will also be able to share content in Office Online as easy as you can in Box by simply clicking the “share” button. The new partnership also brings Box features such as task management, alerts. The integration will be available to all Box business customers with an Office 365 license, as well as Box personal users. Box said it plans to further collaborate with Microsoft later this year to integrate with Office on iOS, Android, and Windows as well. Microsoft had done a similar integration with Dropbox last year.
