Notification Center for Windows Phone 8.1 spotted in fresh leak

A new leak doing the rounds today is giving us a first glimpse of what is expected to be the notification center in Windows Phone 8.1 . Obtained from a confidential slide deck sent internally at Microsoft, the notification center will be dubbed ‘Action Center’ but will pack all the functionality that we’ve come to expect from such a feature.

As is evident from the image, it’ll be possible for users to have quick access to toggles for WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode and Driving Mode. It will be possible to customize these according to user requirements through a shortcut and a Clear All notifications option is also visible. All notifications will show up beneath these toggles. It is expected that notifications will be actionable like on competing platforms.
An interesting differentiator will be how apps can intelligently manage notifications. This includes silently adding, updating and delaying alerts according to the relevance and importance of the notifications. It will be possible for  developers to ensure that alerts for games only show up in the notification center and skip Toast notifications. Windows Phone 8.1 will most likely be shown off at Microsoft’s BUILD conference in April with a developer preview being available around the same time.
