Just a few days after we reported of the stolen LG G2 truck incident, the thief, or at least one of the thieves that managed to hijack a truck full of LG’s G2 smartphones, seems to have been caught today. It is believed that the truck was spotted in Louisville after the driver of the stolen truck foolishly crashed into an utility pole. This is akin to getting busted on a single star wanted level in GTA V.
As we had reported earlier, the shipment of around 22,500 G2 smartphones were en route to Sprint’s distribution centers in Kentucky when Juan Pérez González, the apprehended thief, supposedly stole the truck when the driver was taking a bathroom break.
“Apparently he had over 12 million dollars of LG Smartphones. So a lot of valuable cargo,” said Sergeant Rick from the Kentucky police force.
The thief apparently tried to flee the scene after the truck ran into the pole, and the police immediately nabbed him while he was on the run. The police also believe there are more involved in this crime and have rightly taken Juan to prison.
Well, now that the drama has ended, LG and Sprint can surely look forward to selling the much awaited phones in Kentucky, US.
