Apple has announced Apple Home Collection, a new lineup of smart home accessories developed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The products integrate with Apple’s existing Home ecosystem and can be set up using an iPhone and managed through the Home app, without requiring a separate app or account.
Apple Home Collection
The collection expands Apple’s smart home platform with accessories that work individually or together. The system supports thousands of existing Apple Home and Matter-compatible accessories, with Siri and Thread support for compatible devices. It can also update network credentials automatically when a user changes their Wi-Fi network.
Apple says end-to-end encryption protects personal information and prevents Apple, LG Electronics and Schneider Electric from accessing protected home data.
Home Monitoring
LG’s camera lineup includes four models with video resolutions of up to 2.5K. A compatible Apple Home hub, such as Apple HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K, is required for monitoring.
- Video Doorbell Wired: Uses two cameras to show visitors and packages separately, with a 2.5K front camera and a Full HD bottom camera. It includes a spotlight and can play a chime through Apple HomeView, HomePod or HomePod mini.

- Floodlight Cam: Has adaptive dual floodlights that activate with motion and supports colour night vision in low-light conditions.

- Outdoor Cam Plug-In: Supports colour night vision in low light, has an adjustable viewing angle and allows user installation.

- Indoor Cam Plug-In: Tilts up and down to show different parts of a room. Users can adjust its position manually or through the Home app, and it can tilt down to stop monitoring when the first household member returns home.

All four cameras can recognise people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles and packages. They support a 10-day history of recorded events through iCloud+, without a separate camera subscription. On eligible iCloud+ plans, Apple Intelligence can generate automatic video descriptions and let users search recordings using natural language.
Built-in storage supports recording during Wi-Fi outages, while the Home app provides live footage, activity updates and quick snapshots on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K or Apple HomeView.
Home Access
The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband (UWB) to detect when an authorised user approaches and automatically unlocks the door using a home key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch. Other access methods include:

- Tapping a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch.
- Entering a PIN on the keypad.
- Using the concealed backup key slot.
The lock detects whether the door is open or closed, alerts users about tampering and can notify them if the door remains open even when locked. Users can also share access with guests through the Home app.
The lock works with the Video Doorbell Wired to provide connected entry. When someone rings the doorbell, the chime can play through Apple HomeView, HomePod or HomePod mini, while an iPhone or iPad receives a notification.
Users can view the visitor, speak to them and unlock the door through the Home app or Siri. The lock supports Matter and Aliro, and its core access functions operate locally without an internet connection.
Home Climate
Apple Home Collection includes smart thermostats from LG and Schneider Electric, along with standalone temperature and humidity sensors. Both thermostats offer Adaptive Temperature, which uses on-device iPhone intelligence to adjust the temperature according to whether users are at home, winding down or away.

In the contiguous United States, Clean Energy Guidance can shift heating and cooling to periods when electricity is cleaner or less expensive, provided users have a compatible utility plan. The Home app also provides energy-use insights, including peak and off-peak usage.

For room-level monitoring, users can install standalone sensors or use sensors built into Apple HomeView, HomePod and HomePod mini. The thermostats and sensors support Matter, while the thermostats also offer:
- Compatibility with a broad range of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- On-device wire detection.
- Do-it-yourself installation.

Automations and Privacy
Users can combine compatible accessories into scenes and automations through the Home app. For example, a Good Morning scene can adjust the thermostat, tilt the indoor camera downward and start music on a HomePod. On-device intelligence on an iPhone or Apple Watch can also trigger actions when residents leave or return.
When the last person leaves, an automation can adjust the thermostat for an empty home, lock the door and activate camera monitoring. Before a resident returns, it can adjust the thermostat and unlock the door automatically.
Apple says end-to-end encryption protects camera footage and personal data, preventing Apple, LG Electronics and Schneider Electric from accessing them. Footage is processed locally on an Apple Home hub or through Private Cloud Compute, while iCloud+ stores recorded event footage in encrypted form for 10 days.
