Nikon India has announced the Nikon Z5IIC, a full-frame (FX-format) mirrorless camera featuring the Nikon Z mount. It delivers the same level of performance as the Z5II, which was released in April 2025, while adding scene modes to the mode dial.
The Nikon Z5IIC is the company’s first full-frame mirrorless camera to feature scene modes on the mode dial. It offers 15 scene modes for different shooting situations, while a dedicated button provides access to Imaging Recipes created by Nikon and leading creators.
The 15 scene modes cover subjects and situations such as:
- Portraits
- Pets
- Food
- Night landscapes
- Twilight
When users select a scene, the camera automatically optimises colour, brightness and other imaging settings, including more than six settings such as white balance and Picture Control. In AUTO mode, it can also analyse and recognise subjects and scenes and automatically adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity and autofocus.
Users can register Imaging Recipes on the camera and recall them using the dedicated button. These image presets allow photos and video to be captured with the selected look without post-processing.
For autofocus, the Z5IIC uses Nikon’s AI-powered system with deep-learning technology to detect 10 subject types. It can acquire focus down to -10 EV in low-light conditions, including concerts, dinner events and night street scenes. In addition, the 5-axis in-body Vibration Reduction (VR) system provides up to 7.5 stops of compensation for handheld still and video shooting.
The camera supports the following continuous-shooting functions:
- Continuous shooting: Up to approximately 14 fps
- High-Speed Frame Capture +: Up to 30 fps
- Pre-Release Capture: Records up to one second before the shutter is released
Moving to the camera body, the Z5IIC has a streamlined design with a stable grip and a 3.2-inch vari-angle monitor. The monitor supports shooting from different positions, including low angles and selfies, while touch controls such as double-tap, pinch in/out and swipe work for playback, focusing and shutter release.
The body uses magnesium alloy in key areas for added rigidity and features dust- and drip-resistance. On the imaging side, the camera combines a backside-illumination CMOS sensor with the EXPEED 7 image-processing engine found in Nikon’s flagship model. When paired with NIKKOR Z lenses, it supports full-frame photography and video recording. It also includes the Film Grain function introduced with the Nikon Zf, which was released in October 2023.
The Z5IIC also provides a range of video recording options, including:
- 4K UHD: Up to 60 fps
- Full HD: Up to 120 fps
- Slow motion: 4× and 5× normal speed
- Recording formats: H.265 10-bit (MOV) and N-Log
- N-RAW: Video recording to an SD memory card
The camera also includes a REC lamp and red frame indicator on the monitor to show when recording is in progress. Product Review Mode shifts focus to an item brought close to the camera, while UVC/UAC support enables webcam use through a direct USB connection to a PC. Users can also connect the camera to a PC via USB for live streaming.
In addition to these shooting and video functions, the Z5IIC adds Fish to Nikon’s subject-detection options for the first time. SnapBridge also adds a camera-simulation function that helps users learn shooting settings through hands-on experience, along with photography tips categorised by theme. The app can automatically transfer images to a smartphone, while Nikon Imaging Cloud supports post-shooting data management.

Pricing and availability
The Nikon Z5IIC camera body will be available across India from mid-October 2026 at an MRP of Rs. 1,39,995 (Body Only). It will be sold through Nikon outlets across the country in black and silver.
