Google has integrated its latest AI models into Google Vids, expanding its AI video creation capabilities. The update brings Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash to Google Vids along with new creative controls for AI-generated videos.
Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash adds video creation controls
Gemini Omni 1.1 in Google Vids provides controls across the video creation process, from the initial concept through the final export. Users can extend AI-generated scenes while maintaining the existing visual context, including lighting, character appearance, and the surrounding environment.
Users can also set the exact duration of a generated clip so it aligns with their story and voiceover. In addition, Google Vids can generate new AI video scenes in 1080p HD and upscale existing AI clips for use across the video timeline.
The new controls support several types of projects:
- Product launches: Users can choose ready-to-use video templates to create product videos.
- Local businesses: Photos of new arrivals can be turned into videos showing what is in stock.
- Enterprise marketing: Teams can create videos for landing pages, social announcements, and digital event signage.
- Community events: Organizers can create videos for local events, clubs, and community fundraisers.
Google Vids also adds a transparency measure for AI-generated content. Every clip generated with Gemini Omni 1.1 includes an imperceptible SynthID digital watermark embedded in the video frames. This allows viewers to verify that the content was generated with AI.
Gemini text-to-speech coming soon
Google said Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite text-to-speech will soon be available in Google Vids. The feature will turn written scripts into voiceovers across 100+ languages, allowing users to generate narration by entering a script.
Pricing and availability
Google Vids is available at no cost, with additional access and capacity available through different account plans:
- Google and Google Workspace accounts: Users can access Google Vids and generate videos with Gemini Omni 1.1 at no cost.
- Personal accounts: Google AI plans offer additional access to AI video generation.
- Workspace Business and Enterprise plans: These plans include expanded generation pools and centralized administrator controls for teams.
- Access: Users can open Google Vids on a desktop through vids.new and select “Create AI videos.”
