AKAI India has launched a new range of 5-Star Semi-Automatic Top Load Washing Machines in India. The new lineup is introduced under the “The Spa for Your Clothes” theme and is inspired by the Japanese Mottainai philosophy.
The range covers capacities from 7 kg to 14 kg for different household requirements. AKAI says the lineup focuses on heavy-duty washing, fabric care, and reducing water and electricity use while supporting machine durability.
AKAI Semi-Automatic Washing Machines
The new range uses five pulsator technologies across its semi-automatic models, with wash programs and other features varying by model and capacity.
- x5 Wing Pulsator: Available across the 7 kg to 14 kg range, with Normal and Gentle wash cycles. Higher-capacity models also include a Strong mode.
- Dual Force Pulsator: Available on select models for heavier loads.
- Active Flow 360°: Available on select models and powers the AKAI Magic Wash feature, which offers a 35-minute wash cycle with a built-in soak function.
- Jumbo Pulsator: Available on the 8.5 kg glass-lid range, with Normal, Gentle and Strong wash programs and an electronic timer of up to 40 minutes.
- Spiral Pulsator: Available in the 8.5 kg range with a water selector and multiple wash programs.
- Roller Pulsator: Available in the 10.5 kg range with a water selector and multiple wash programs.
In addition, the 11 kg model comes with a stainless-steel wash-and-spin tub, which AKAI says is a first for its semi-automatic line. The company notes that certain features may be available only on select models and are subject to change.
Durability and other features
Across the range, AKAI includes an anti-rat mesh to protect the wiring, a rust-proof body and thermal protection for the wash motor. The washing machines carry a 5-star energy rating, while the wash motor comes with a five-year warranty.
Depending on the model, the range also includes:
- Soft-closing lids on 7.5 kg glass-lid models and above
- Castor wheels
- Collar scrubber
- Magic filter for lint and dirt
- Single or dual water inlet
Pricing and availability
AKAI’s Semi-Automatic Washing Machines are available PAN India starting at Rs. 12,590 through the official website, select third-party online stores and authorized offline retailers. The range is supported by a nationwide network of 1,200+ service centres across 28 states.
