Samsung fined by FTC for obstructing an investigation


Samsung was recently involved in a mobile phone price fixing case along with many other manufacturers like LG, etc. The Korean Fair Trade Commission (FTC) was investigating Samsung on this case and Samsung got fined 400 million for obstruction.

400 million is a really huge amount, and it is the highest penalty cost levied on any company by FTC for obstruction during an investigation.

Samsung’s top level executives and the security personnel were the people who obstructed and delayed for investigation the team sent from FTC, while the Samsung employees deleted the data related to the investigation, said FTC.
