motorola has officially announced the motorola edge 70 fusion. The new smartphone integrates updated design materials, the latest Sony camera sensors, and a suite of on-device AI capabilities. The launch also includes a specialized FIFA World Cup 26™ Collection edition, targeting fans of the upcoming tournament.
Design and Durability
The edge 70 fusion features a quad-curve design, with the front glass curving into the back panel to eliminate sharp edges for a smoother profile. The device is constructed with nylon- and linen-inspired textured finishes and is available in curated Pantone shades – PANTONE Orient Blue, PANTONE Sporting Green and PANTONE Silhouette featuring colored accents around the camera module.
Despite a thin and lightweight build, Motorola has emphasized durability. The device includes several high-rated protections against the elements:
- IP69 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
- MIL-STD-810H certification for military-grade durability.
- Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i to protect the display.
Camera Specifications
The edge 70 fusion is the first smartphone to market featuring the Sony LYTIA™ 710 sensor. The camera system is integrated with “moto ai” and a Photo Enhancement Engine to stabilize images and apply personalized aesthetic styles.
The hardware setup includes:
- Main Camera: A 50MP Sony LYTIA™ 710 sensor equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
- Secondary Camera: A 13MP ultrawide and macro lens offering a 122° field of view.
- Front Camera: A 32MP selfie camera capable of 4K video recording.
Display and Audio
The smartphone sports a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with a 1.5K Super HD resolution. It is the first smartphone to combine a 144Hz quad-curved screen with Pantone Validated™ Color. The display reaches a peak brightness of 5200 nits, designed for clear visibility in bright outdoor environments. For audio, the device includes dual stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio support and Dolby Atmos® integration.
Performance and Battery
Internally, the edge 70 fusion is powered by the Snapdragon® 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, aimed at supporting both standard navigation and its built-in AI tools.
- Battery Life: A 5200mAh / 7000mAh battery provides up to 39 / 52 hours of usage.
- Charging: 68W TurboPower™ fast charging, alongside reverse power-sharing capabilities to charge other compatible devices.
AI Integration
Motorola has heavily integrated “moto ai” into the device for real-time assistance and content generation. Key features include:
- Next Move: Scans and understands on-screen context to offer instant support, research, or next steps.
- Generative Tools: Playlist Studio and Image Studio allow users to generate custom playlists, stickers, and wallpapers.
- Smart Assistant Prompts: Voice commands like “Catch me up,” “Pay attention,” and “Remember this” are built into the OS to summarize information and enhance productivity.
FIFA World Cup 26™ Collection
Alongside the standard release, Motorola unveiled a FIFA World Cup 26™ Collection edition of the edge 70 fusion. This special edition features a back cover with a leather-inspired finish textured like a football. It also includes 24K gold-plated accents on the Motorola Batwing logo and FIFA branding.
Software enhancements for this edition include exclusive FIFA World Cup 26™ tools, curated wallpapers, and ringtones. The official FIFA World Cup™ App comes preinstalled, and users get direct access to FIFA® Heroes, a new mobile game for which Motorola is the exclusive smartphone partner.
