Jolla, the Finnish company, has announced a new smartphone after a long hiatus. Named the Jolla Phone, it is described as an “independent European Do It Together (DIT) Linux phone” and succeeds the original 2013 model while retaining its form factor with a replaceable back cover.
The device comes in three colors inspired by Nordic nature: Snow White, Kaamos Black, and The Orange. The smartphone features a 6.36-inch FHD AMOLED display with approximately 390 ppi, protected by Gorilla Glass.

Its rear camera includes a 50MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultrawide camera, while the resolution of the front-facing camera has not been disclosed. It is powered by an unspecified MediaTek 5G SoC and comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, expandable via microSDXC up to 2TB.
The device runs Sailfish OS 5 and supports Android apps through Jolla AppSupport, allowing users to disable Android components if needed. Connectivity options include 5G, dual nano-SIM support, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. Additional hardware includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an RGB notification LED.

Pricing and Availability
The Jolla Phone is available for pre-order with a €99 (USD 115 or Rs. 10,409 approx.) down payment. The pre-order price is €499 (USD 581 or Rs. 52,465 approx.), with the regular price expected to range between €599 (USD 698 or Rs. 62,980 approx.) and €699 (USD 815 or Rs. 73,495 approx.).
- Production will occur only if at least 2,000 units are supported by January 4, 2026, 23:55 (Helsinki time).
- At the time of writing, 2,515 units have been pre-ordered, exceeding the required target and reaching 125% funding, with 27 days remaining for pre-orders.

Deliveries are estimated by the end of H1 2026, initially in the UK, Norway, Switzerland, and the EU, with potential expansion to other markets.
