Lenovo Legion Go (8.8″, 2) Windows gaming handheld announced

At the Lenovo Innovation World 2025 event in Berlin, the company announced the latest additions to its lineup of gaming devices, consumer tablets, and more. The Lenovo Legion Go (8.8”, 2), which was first unveiled as a prototype at CES 2025, was officially launched at the event.

The Lenovo Legion Go (8.8″, 2), a successor to the first-generation Legion Go (8.8″, 1), is a Windows 11-based PC gaming handheld that offers gamers even more customization. It features an 8.8-inch WUXGA 16:10 144Hz 500nit OLED PureSight touch display with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support.

The handheld gaming device can smoothly handle resource-intensive AAA, indie, and retro games, thanks to the incorporation of up to an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and up to 32GB of 8000MHz RAM. It also supports up to 2TB PCIe Gen 4 storage and a microSD slot, along with an upgraded 74Whr battery that is over 50% higher in capacity than its predecessor.

The detachable Legion TrueStrike controllers are the main highlight of the handheld. It comes with three dedicated modes—console mode, tablet mode, and handheld mode. The detachment of the right controller will turn it into a vertical mouse for FPS games.

The three user-programmable buttons on the controller—customizable via Legion Space—add another level of fine-tuned control for gamers. Gamers can detach the controllers and attach them to a Legion Go Charging Connector and enjoy a tablet-level gaming experience.
