Telegram’s latest update for Android and iOS adds multiple features, allowing users to attach music to profiles, set a default profile tab, apply gift-related chat themes, assist friends with gift upgrades, view gift resale values, and create stickers using a new mini app.
What’s New
Add Music to Profiles
Users can attach songs from chats directly to their profile. Tracks appear below the profile photo and automatically form a playlist with previously added music. To include a track, tap Add to Profile in the media player or select Save to > Profile.
Android Profile Redesign
Android profiles now feature an updated layout with smooth scrolling animations, similar to the design introduced earlier on iOS.
Default Profile Tab
Users can select which tab appears first—Saved Stories or Gift Collections—when others view their profile. This is set under Settings > My Profile by holding a tab and choosing Set as Main Tab.
Gift-Based Chat Themes
Each collectible gift can unlock a custom chat theme, creating a dynamic wallpaper for use in a single private chat. Currently supported gifts are:
- Plush Pepes
- Precious Peaches
- Durov’s Caps
- Heart Lockets
Upgrade Gifts for Friends
Users can use Stars to help another person upgrade a gift on their profile.
The Upgradable filter highlights gifts eligible for an upgrade, and the Upgrade Next Gift button allows multiple upgrades consecutively. Telegram also introduced a new animation for gift upgrades.
Gift Value Tracking
The Gift Marketplace displays a gift’s approximate resale price in a Value field. Users can expand the field to see additional statistics, including the average sale price of other gifts in the same collection.
Stickers Mini App
The Stickers Mini App enables users to create and manage sticker packs and emoji while viewing usage statistics. It expands Telegram’s platform for creating and sharing custom artwork.
