Google Workspace June Feature Drop: Vids powered by Veo 3, Workspace-connected Gemini, and improved Slides designs

Google has rolled out its June Workspace update, introducing major upgrades across Google Vids, Slides, and the Gemini app. The goal: help users create presentations, videos, and research-driven insights faster using AI.

Google Vids: Now Powered by Veo 3

Powered by Veo 3, Google Vids offers AI-driven video creation using Google’s top video generation technology. You can generate realistic, high-quality clips with sound by simply typing a prompt.

For example, request a scene of a worker in specific gear or a presenter in a custom setting — Vids will create it for you.

What’s new:

  • AI voiceover updates: After script edits, voiceovers update automatically across scenes with one click.
  • Realistic visuals & audio: With Veo 3, videos feature more accurate visuals and natural audio.
  • Wider access: Customers with Business Starter or Enterprise Starter plans now have access to Vids.
Google Slides: Better Templates for Faster Presentations

Slides now includes a broader range of professional templates — covering project proposals, team updates, and creative portfolios — to help users build standout presentations quickly.

Gemini App: Smarter, More Connected AI for Work

With new links to Gmail, Drive, and other Workspace apps, Gemini can now give more context-aware replies. You can now:

  • Find files in Drive
  • Summarize unread emails
  • Pull notes for upcoming meetings

Your data remains private — Workspace data is not used to train Gemini, and privacy controls stay in your hands.

Live & Deep Research: Smarter AI Conversations

Two new capabilities in Gemini:

  • Live: Enables real-time, natural conversations with Gemini. Speak freely, interrupt, ask follow-ups — all in a dynamic voice-based format.
  • Deep Research: Upload a Drive file and Gemini will combine it with public data to deliver smart summaries, insights, and industry trends from your documents.
Availability

These updates are rolling out now to all Google Workspace customers.
