Elon Musk’s company xAI officially introduced Grok 4, its strongest AI chatbot so far. The launch happened live on X (formerly Twitter), with the AI being called “smarter than almost every graduate student across all fields.” Musk says Grok 4 might start discovering new tech by late 2025 and could uncover new physics within two years, signaling a bold advancement in artificial intelligence.
Grok 4
Grok 4 marks a significant advance in reasoning, scientific problem-solving, and real-time information access. Trained on over 200,000 GPUs using xAI’s Colossus supercomputer, it achieves ten times the reasoning power of Grok 3. The model uses reinforcement learning to tackle complex and novel problems across multiple subjects.
The AI comes in two variants: a generalist model for tasks such as writing, translating, and research, and a developer model tailored for coding assistance, debugging, and integration with development environments.
It also features enhanced voice capabilities, delivering faster and more natural responses. Grok 4 is already being applied in biomedical research, finance, game development, and strategic planning. The Heavy variant runs multiple AI agents simultaneously, improving problem-solving depth and accuracy.
