Telegram has started rolling out its latest update (version 11.13.0) for Android and iOS, introducing two key features — collaborative checklists and suggested posts for channels. These tools aim to streamline task tracking for users and create new ways for channel owners to engage and monetize.
Here’s What’s New
Collaborative Checklists
Telegram Premium users can now create interactive checklists in any chat, ideal for task management, team coordination, or personal to-do lists. These checklists come with granular permissions, allowing the creator to control who can mark items as complete or add new tasks.
To create a checklist:
- Open the attachment menu in any chat
- Tap on ‘Checklist’
- Share it in personal chats, groups, or even your Saved Messages
Suggested Posts in Channels
Telegram now lets subscribers submit content to channels via a new “suggested posts” interface. Users can share fan content, reviews, promotions, and more. These submissions are sent as direct messages to the channel and can be scheduled for a specific time or left to the channel owner’s discretion.
At launch, the ability to suggest posts is limited to users with a Telegram Premium subscription.
Funding Suggested Posts
Users suggesting posts can offer rewards using Telegram Stars or Toncoin, incentivizing channel owners to publish their content.
- Toncoin can be added via Fragment
- Users can purchase Stars in larger quantities through Fragment or the @PremiumBot service.
- Rewards are credited 24 hours after posting; if a post is removed earlier, funds are refunded automatically
Monetization and Privacy
Suggested posts allow channels of any size to crowdsource content and take part in affiliate promotions — all without leaving the Telegram app. This protects privacy and reduces the risk of scams.
While Stars may be refunded within 21 days due to third-party policies, Toncoin payments are non-refundable, making them a more secure option. Channel owners can also negotiate suggested post content and pricing before approving and publishing.
Availability
The features are available now via version 11.13.0 or later for both Android and iOS. Android users can get the latest version from the Google Play Store or by downloading it directly from telegram.org/android.
