Sony Phone and Toshiba tablet with TransferJet, high-speed close proximity data transfer technology that would enable 2 devices such as smartphones, tablets etc. to quickly exchange data by just touching the two together to be demoed at MWC 2012. The TransferJet technology combines the speed of UWB (Ultra Wide Band) with the ease of NFC (Near Field Communications).
Features such as content downloading from kiosk stores to Sony smartphones, content exchange between Sony smartphones, content downloading / uploading between tablet PC and smart phone and Toshiba’s prototype tablet with TransferJet would be demonstrated. They would also showcase memory cards incorporating TransferJet functionality.
