Samsung announced new health-focused features coming with One UI 8 Watch, aimed at helping users build healthier habits through improved sleep, heart health, fitness, and nutrition tracking.
Key Features: One UI 8 Watch
Bedtime Guidance
This feature recommends an ideal bedtime based on your habits and recent sleep trends. It analyzes data from the past three nights to balance sleep pressure and circadian rhythm. It includes:

- Personalized bedtime suggestions based on lifestyle and sleep behavior
- Reminders to maintain a consistent sleep schedule
- Helpful for recovering from irregular sleep routines
Builds on Samsung’s existing features such as tracking sleep trends, offering tailored sleep coaching, and detecting potential signs of sleep apnea.
Vascular Load
The Galaxy Watch now monitors how much stress your vascular system undergoes during sleep — offering a deeper look into cardiovascular health. It includes:

- Measures sleep-related vascular stress to assess heart strain
- Identifies abnormal fluctuations that may signal heart health risks
- Links insights to lifestyle habits like sleep quality, stress, and physical activity
Running Coach
Aimed at beginner and casual runners, this feature helps users train safely for events like 5Ks or marathons. It offers:

- Real-time feedback and personalized training guidance
- A 12-minute run test to evaluate fitness level
- Custom training plans for 5K, 10K, half, and full marathons
- A scoring system (1–10) to track progress and unlock next training stages
Antioxidant Index
This industry-first feature uses light sensors to measure carotenoid levels in your skin — antioxidants that support healthy aging. It includes:

- Tracks dietary impact by detecting antioxidant levels from fruits and vegetables
- Shows how changes in diet affect your wellness over time
- Encourages healthy eating and lifestyle habits to slow aging
Availability
These features will roll out with the One UI 8 Watch beta for Galaxy Watch5 series and newer models. The beta will first be available to users in Korea and the United States.
Speaking about the update, Dr. Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team at Samsung’s Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, said:
