According to information from retailer marketing materials obtained by Android Authority, Google is developing a magnetic wireless charging system named Pixelsnap for the upcoming Pixel 10 series.
What’s in the Pixelsnap Ecosystem?
The ecosystem is expected to include three accessories:
- Pixelsnap Charger — A standard magnetic wireless charging solution, comparable to Apple’s MagSafe.
- Pixelsnap Charger with Stand — A wireless charging device that doubles as a functional phone stand.
- Pixelsnap Ring Stand — A minimal ring accessory designed to keep your phone upright with ease.
The “Pixelsnap Charger” likely functions similarly to Apple’s MagSafe charger, while the stand options will help prop up the phone, enhancing usability during charging. This aligns well with Google’s efforts to bring Hub Mode to Pixel devices, potentially turning Pixel phones into smart displays while charging—similar to Apple’s Standby Mode on iPhones.
Additional details were uncovered in a trade database where the charger is listed as a Google wireless charger with Qi 2.2 and MPP (Magnetic Power Profile) support. The charger’s codename is “STN4”, and it will come in two colors: “Rock Candy” (likely black) and “Mist” (likely off-white), reflecting Google’s typical color codenames.

The Pixelsnap project is confirmed to be tied to the Pixel 10, which will support Qi 2.2 wireless charging powered by the ConvenientPower CPS4041 controller chip. This chip theoretically supports up to 60W charging speeds, though Google may set different limits.
While Apple shared its MagSafe magnetic wireless charging tech with the Wireless Power Consortium in early 2023, Android phones have yet to widely adopt magnetic Qi 2 standards. Google’s Pixel 10 series is poised to change this by being among the first Android devices with built-in Qi 2.2 and magnetic support.
Launch timeline?
Google is expected to announce the Pixel 10 series at its “Made by Google” event on August 20, 2025, with pre-orders starting the same day and shipping slated for August 28. Official announcements from Google are expected soon.
