Apple stated that its Self Service Repair program is designed for users comfortable with their own repairs and that expanding repair access supports more products and regions. The company also highlighted growth in the number of service locations with genuine parts, tools, and training.
Along with Apple Stores, Authorized Service Providers, Independent Repair Providers, mail-in centers, Self Service Repair, and the Genuine Parts Distributor program, Canada will become the 34th country to offer Self Service Repair this summer.
Speaking about the expansion, Brian Naumann, Apple’s Vice President of AppleCare, said,
At Apple, our aim is to build the world’s best products that stand the test of time. With today’s update, we’re pleased to broaden our repair services to more customers, helping them extend their product’s lifespan — all while maintaining safety, security, and privacy.
