OnePlus today announced its entry into the Indian esports space by partnering with three esports teams—Gods Reign, K9, and Cincinnati Kids. This marks a move toward building what the company describes as a “gaming-first ecosystem” in the country.
Deep Integration with Esports Teams
As part of this collaboration, OnePlus said it will work closely with these teams for product development. Players will offer real-time feedback, which the company noted will help shape current and future devices. OnePlus added that the goal is to test devices in real gaming environments to improve performance factors like frame rates, power usage, and heat management.
The company noted that this is not just a branding move, but an active involvement aimed at improving gaming performance. It expects the partnership to align future product development with actual gaming demands and community expectations.
With this collaboration, the teams will now compete under co-branded names:
- OnePlus Gods Reign
- OnePlus K9
- OnePlus Cincinnati Kids
About the Teams
OnePlus Gods Reign: Based in Bengaluru, this team includes top BGMI players and has earned wins at BGIS and BGMS, with a second-place finish at BMPS. In 2025, they won the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series after bringing in new talent.
OnePlus K9: Known for its rise from grassroots tournaments, K9 has competed in ESL BGMI Snapdragon Pro Series, Red Bull MEO, and BGIS, and now plays as OnePlus K9.
OnePlus Cincinnati Kids: Known for starting without sponsors, this team made headlines by finishing 7th at BGIS 2025 Grand Finals. Their rise from underdogs to strong competitors has resulted in their rebranding as OnePlus Cincinnati Kids.
OnePlus 13 Series for Gaming
The announcement also focused on the OnePlus 13 Series, which the company said is designed with mobile gamers in mind. The OnePlus 13 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and the OnePlus 13R uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
The company highlighted that both phones are built for high-performance gaming with fast graphics rendering, stable frame rates, a Dual Cryo-Velocity Vapor Cooling System to manage heat, and a 6,000mAh battery paired with 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging for extended play with minimal downtime.
OnePlus believes this combination of hardware makes the 13 Series suitable for high-performance mobile gaming.
Speaking about the partnership, Marcel Campos, Director of Product Strategy at OnePlus, said,
Our community has always been central to our work. Over time, we have carefully listened to the gaming community’s demands for speed, performance, and reliability. This collaboration strengthens our commitment to gamers and represents an important step in supporting the future of mobile esports athletes.
