Optiemus Electronics has announced a manufacturing agreement with ASRock Incorporation, a prominent motherboard manufacturer based in Taipei, Taiwan.
Under this agreement, OEL will undertake the manufacturing of ASRock’s enterprise and gaming desktop motherboards within India. This production is intended to cater to the demand within the Indian domestic market.
Manufacturing of these motherboards reportedly commenced in April 2025. The motherboards produced under this partnership are expected to be available for purchase in the Indian domestic market starting from May 2025.
Both OEL and ASRock have indicated an intention to broaden the range of products offered in India in the future. This development is noted as occurring within the context of the expanding Indian electronics manufacturing industry, and for OEL, it signifies an expansion of its manufacturing capabilities within the IT hardware sector.
ASRock motherboards, designed for various applications, are stated to be popular in both domestic and international markets and have historically been imported into India.
The collaboration is described as a step for ASRock in expanding its presence in India. By partnering with an Indian Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company for local production, ASRock aims to enhance its product availability within the country.
The announcement also references a contribution to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. OEL states that it aligns with ASRock’s approach and anticipates that this partnership will support job creation and provide opportunities for skill development in motherboard manufacturing in India, aligning with the ‘Make in India’ vision.
On the partnership, Ashok Gupta, Executive Chairman, Optiemus Group said:
We are elated to partner with ASRock, which aligns perfectly with our vision of enabling cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities in India. This announcement brings forward our enhanced capabilities of handling highly complex large Printed Circuit Board assembly, including BGA, fine pitch assembly and the ability to deliver precision placement for very small capacitors and resistors, an important consideration for manufacturing complex AI motherboards for telecom industry, high-end desktops and AI powered laptops. Today, OEL has fully automated manufacturing processes with minimal human intervention, including advanced nitrogen reflow systems that are of paramount importance for optimising soldering processes to ensure long term reliability.
We are on the path to meet the growing domestic demand, catering to exports market, creating new employment opportunities and fostering skill development in high-tech manufacturing. Together, we are proud to contribute to the Make-in-India vision and drive innovation in the electronics sector.
