Instagram gets improvements to reels, feed photos, and more

Meta-owned Instagram has announced several upgrades to enhance the user experience across various content formats. These improvements cover Reels, feed photos, carousels, and stories, along with additional insights for content performance evaluation.

New Editing Tools for Reels

Save time with the introduction of undo and redo functions for smoother video editing. Instagram is also testing features allowing users to scale, crop, and rotate individual clips, offering more creative control.

Additionally, users can explore meme-worthy content creation by incorporating audio clips from the clip hub.

More Voices and Text Options

Instagram is adding 10 new English text-to-speech voices and six fresh text fonts and styles in various languages. To enhance text visibility, users can now add outlines. Experiment with creativity by connecting with fans through memes and encouraging them to create their remixes.

Easier Audio Access and Streamlined Drafts

Discover trending audio more efficiently with Instagram’s testing of new ways to access the audio browser. Drafts are getting a makeover, providing a streamlined view for easier editing. Users can now preview, rename, and schedule drafts in advance.

Custom Stickers and Photo Filters

For more unique Reels and stories, Instagram is testing the ability to create custom stickers from personal photos, videos, or eligible content on the platform.

New photo filters offer options for subtle color edits and expressive styles, allowing users to experiment with various looks for their posts.

Simplified Posting and Improved Insights

Instagram has streamlined the posting process, making it easier to find necessary tools during editing. Improved insights include a new Reels metric called Replays, with an updated definition to include both Initial Plays and Replays.

In the coming months, creators will gain access to an interactive Retention Chart, offering moment-by-moment insights into Reel viewership.
