Netflix Games: Money Heist, Shadow and Bone and more

Netflix has introduced four exclusive games inspired by popular originals on its platform at its Geeked Week ’23. These games cater to fans of the respective entertainment franchises and offer unique experiences.

Chicken Run: Eggstraction

Embark on a real-time, top-down heist adventure with Aardman, creators of the “Chicken Run” films. The game combines squad-based infiltration with chaotic escapes, picking up where the upcoming film “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget” concludes. Exclusive for Netflix members, it’s set to launch in 2024.

Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold

In this interactive role-playing game, players shape the fate of the Grishaverse. Set between Seasons 1 and 2 of the Netflix series, “Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold” lets you make decisions for iconic heroes, exploring untold stories in the war-torn Ravka. It’s available exclusively on Netflix Mobile on Android, iPhone and iPad.

Money Heist: La Casa de Papel

Released alongside the spinoff series “Berlin,” this interactive game lets you dive into the world of “Money Heist.” Join the crew in the original La Perla de Barcelona heist, where your choices determine the outcome.

The Dragon Prince: Xadia

From the makers of “The Dragon Prince” animated series, Wonderstorm, comes a hero-based cooperative action RPG. Explore Xadia, team up with series heroes, and engage in co-op missions to battle iconic villains. The game will be available on mobile and separately on PC.

Commenting on the announcement, Leanne Loombe, VP, Head of External Games at Netflix, said:

Netflix’s strategy with its games portfolio is to provide a broad smorgasbord of genres and gameplay formats, leaning more heavily toward games based on Netflix shows, movies, and recognizable gaming franchises. The company observed that games for Netflix originals like “Too Hot to Handle” and “Love Is Blind” exceeded expectations. Notably, the “Chicken Run” and “Dragon Prince” games come from the same studios that created the Netflix originals.

It’s no surprise that Netflix IP games resonate strongly with members. Our members come to Netflix to watch these shows and movies, and with these games, we’re able to expand those worlds and give them a new way to explore those characters. Overall, the scale of Netflix’s games and its investment in the sector ‘is still relatively small,’ comparing it to the early days of the company’s original TV and film production.
