Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2 (U1B2.230922.006) comes with bug fixes and improvements, including enhanced performance and October 2023 security patch. Some of the fixes include:

  • Fixing a problem on certain devices where the scrolling animation was not smooth.
  • Addressing various issues that affected system stability and performance.

Here are some notable changes and features in Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2 shared by Mishaal Rahman:

  • Google has redesigned the system update page with a new look specifically for Pixel devices. It provides information on the status of your OS, Mainline version, and Pixel system apps.
  • In the Personal Safety app of Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2, you can now add your height, weight, and pregnancy status. This information is synced across paired devices under the same Google Account and is end-to-end encrypted.
  • Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2 includes the Weather app from the Pixel 8, allowing weather information to be displayed in the Google Clock app and the “World” clock widget.
  • The aspect ratio settings are now labeled as experimental or labs, with a warning that some apps may not be optimized for certain aspect ratios.
  • The “continue using apps on fold” option for the Pixel Fold has been hidden, but it still exists in the build.
  • Enabling screen protector mode in Settings > Display will now provide a notification when it’s active.
  • Google is working on a Pixel Troubleshooting app to help users diagnose battery and network issues.
  • There’s a new battery diagnostics page under Settings > Battery, which is part of the Pixel Troubleshooting app.
  • Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2 is preparing to introduce a feature that lets you sync app permissions between your phone and connected Bluetooth devices.
